The event was graced by the presence of the Deputy Minister of Constitution and Law, Honorable Tuesday Abdallah Sagini, who underscored the vital role of women human rights defenders in advocating for justice, equality, and human dignity. Key discussions focused on addressing the challenges faced by human rights defenders and identifying actionable steps to enhance their safety and working environments. This celebration highlighted the collective commitment to empowering women defenders and fostering a more secure and supportive space for their critical work in advancing human rights across Tanzania.

On November 29, 2024, we marked the 5th anniversary of International Women Human Rights Defenders Day, celebrating with the recognition of the 2024 WHRD Champions. As WHRDs, we must continue to rise, speak up, and defend human rights boldly.
