MEMBERSHIP AND TYPES OF MEMBERS
Membership of the coalition shall be registered organizations and individual persons who are working and fighting for women’s human rights in Tanzania. Members are responsible for participating in the activities of WHRDS Coalition, and at a minimum should endeavor to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Also members are entitled to one vote per organization, and may exercise that vote directly or through proxy at the Annual General Meeting and Proxy votes must be communicated to the AGM by written notification.
Types of Membership
- Founder (permanent) members: These are the members who take initiative to form this organization and their signatures appeared in this Constitution. These members can either be an individual or an organization.
- Associate Members: Associate members are members joining the organization and upon approved by the secretariat. These members can either be an individual or an organization.
- Ordinary Members; shall be those members who shall join the organization after registration of the organization. These members can either be an individual or an organization.

Rights of Members
- Each Member is expected to understand and support the objective of the organization
- Every member shall have the right to participate in the activities of the organization
- Every Member shall have the right to express, opinion, conscience and ideas subject to the provision of this constitution and the legal and social order of the country.
- very member shall have the obligation to make financial annual contributions to the organization to facilitate the administrative activities once per year.
- Subject to the provisions of this constitution, every member has the right and obligation to attend meetings of the coalition and to participate in deliberation and decision making at the meeting.
- Founder members will have 2 votes each whereas associate and ordinary members shall each have one vote for or against motions in the general assembly.
- Members shall have the right to excused absences from meetings per year.
- Members shall have the right to other types of rights as shall be determined in Coalition WHRDs Tz policies.
- Every member has the right to be heard in the case of disputes.
- Every member has the right and obligation to attend meetings of the coalition and to participate in deliberation and decision making at the meeting.
