The Coalition for Women Human Rights Defenders Tanzania has actively participated in the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 69), an annual gathering held in New York. The Coalition was represented by its National Coordinator, Ms. Hilda Dadu.
During the conference, Our National coordinator Ms. Hilda Dadu had the privilege of engaging in discussions and sharing experiences on women human rights defenders with former Executive Director of UN Women, Ms. Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka. This interaction provided an important platform for Ms. Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka to learn about the Coalition work in promoting and defending the rights of women and girls in Tanzania.
The discussions took place at a side event focusing on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing women's and girls' rights. This session, organized by UN Women in New York, explored the impact of AI and digital advancements on gender equality and human rights.
CSW 69 has convened global stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues, including the intersection of digital technology and women’s rights, the challenges faced by women human rights defenders, and the implications of AI on gender justice.
As the host and organizer, UN Women has provided a vital platform for dialogue, collaboration, and policy development to enhance gender equality worldwide.
Through its participation, the Coalition for Women Human Rights Defenders Tanzania continues to amplify its voice internationally, share its advocacy experiences, and forge strategic partnerships to advance the rights of women and girls.
